We give away bicycles to those in need on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:15 am. at our 226 Hudson headquarters.
R Community Bikes
226 Hudson Ave,
Rochester, NY 14605
R Community Bikes accepts any and all types of bikes, both children’s and adult. Bikes with special value will be evaluated and possibly sold, with the proceeds going directly back into the program to purchase parts, supplies and tools, thus enabling our work to continue. Receipts are available upon request.
To donate that unused bicycle hanging in the garage (or two or three…), please drop it off at our headquarters during open hours, contact us at email@example.com, or use the form below. We will make good use of it!
In some cases, we may be able to arrange to have your bicycle picked up from your home. If you need a pickup, please supply your address in your email message or in the form below.
We are always in need of money not only to purchase tools and bicycle parts, but also to fund other aspects of our programs. As of March 2008, RCB became a federally recognized, 501(c)3 charitable organization and as such, donations are tax deductible as far as the law allows. Checks made out to R Community Bikes can be mailed directly to:

Alternatively, you can easily make a secure donation using PayPal. You can use a credit card if you don’t have a PayPal account:
That link will take you to our PayPal page, where you can make a one-time donation or make a monthly donation by checking the box labelled “Make this recurring (Monthly).”
R Commmunity Bikes is enrolled in Amazon’s Smile program. Amazon will give RCB 0.5% of any purchase you make through the Amazon Smile portal at no additional cost to you. Click here to designate RCB as the recipient organization. Once that’s done, you need only begin your Amazon shopping at smile.amazon.com to benefit RCB.
We are always looking for new volunteers to fill a number of roles ranging from clerical workers to full-fledged bike “wrenches.” Some volunteer possibilities include dismantling bikes, repairing tubes, organizing parts, maintaining our building and record keeping. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and an application.
If you think you might be interested in being a mechanic (even if you’re not sure), please indicate that in your email message. That way, we’ll be able to schedule you for one of our training sessions. We schedule training sessions when our list of applicants fills up; usually that happens every two or three months.
